PM Deuba seeks Dr Shashank’s support for parliamentary party leader



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has sought Dr. Shashank Koirala’s support in the parliamentary party (PP) leader selection likely to take place soon.

According to PM Deuba’s secretariat, leader Koirala reached Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar on Tuesday morning to meet the party President after getting elected a member of the House of Representatives.

During the meeting, PM Deuba and Koirala congratulated each other and had a brief conversation about the election results and government formation.

PM Deuba asked leader Koirala to support him in the PP election to be held soon.

“I am contesting for the post of PP leader, I need your support,” the secretariat said quoting PM Deuba.

Koirala replied that he would consider the issue and let him (Deuba) know later.

Earlier, soon after the results of the election, Koirala had said that he was also eligible for the leader of the parliamentary party and is a contender for the post of prime minister.
