Chand-led CPN and others announce protest programs against elections

KATHMANDU: Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal and two other parties have announced protest programs against the November 20 elections. These three parties had also decided to boycott and thwart the elections.

Organizing a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday, Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal, Rishi Kattel-led Nepal Communist Party and Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal led by Ahuti made public a joint struggle programs against the elections.

Saying that they would boycott the upcoming elections, they appealed to all to take part in the protest programs.

The three parties have decided to hold assemblies in Kathmandu, Butwal, Itahari, Bardibas, Pokhara, Surkhet, and Dhangadhi from November 10-16 against the elections.

Scientific Socialist Communist Party Nepal General Secretary Ahuti said that they would organize corner assemblies and hold demonstrations in various parts of the country from November 12-16.

He was of the opinion that their struggle was against the current system and for the beginning of a new system.

Communist Party of Nepal spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma said that their protest was against the current system as the people are being deprived of their basic rights.
