At least 15 killed in Bara bus accident

At least 15 people were killed and 22 injured in a bus accident in Amlekhgunj of Bara district.

Bara Police Chief Hobindra Bogati said the passenger bus No. Ba 06-001 Kha-0110 heading toward Birgunj from Narayanghat via Pathlaiya met with an accident at Amlekhgunj.

Cricketer Lamichhane arrested from TIA upon arrival in Nepal

Rape-accused cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been arrested at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu this morning upon his arrival. The police arrested him after he landed in Kathmandu. He arrived here on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha. He was taken from the airport to the Gaushala Police Circle to proceed with the investigation. A minor girl had filed a complaint against Sandeep for raping her.

Two killed in motorcycle accident

Two persons died in a motorcycle accident at Punarbas Municipality of Kanchanpur last night.

The deceased have been identified as motorcyclist Guddu Rana, 23, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis-3 in Kailali district and a pillion rider Bishal Rana, 22, of Punarbas Municipality-10.

Water level in Rapti River surging due to incessant rain

The Rapti River here has crossed the danger mark following incessant rainfall since Tuesday night. At Kusum, the water level in the swollen river has crossed 6.32 meters mark. The river is considered reaching the danger mark when the water level reaches 5.40 metres.

29 candidates withdraw candidacy from closed list

Twenty-nine candidates from various political parties have withdrawn their candidacy from the closed list under the proportional representation for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly, according to the Election Commission.

Application for Diversity Visa 2024 opens

The applications for Diversity Visa (DV) 2024 have opened.

The application period closes on November 8, 2022, according to the US Embassy in Kathmandu.

No charges will be applied to fill up the application form.
