Biratnagar initiates ‘Beggar-free Road’ campaign



MORANG: Biratnagar Metropolis has initiated a ‘Beggar-free Road’ campaign.

Metropolitan Police have started a campaign to rescue the beggars residing in different temples and public places.

Biratnagar Mayor Nagesh Koirala shared the metropolis has laid high emphasis on the campaign to make a beggar-free road.

He said those who can work to eke out their livelihood are also begging in different public places.

Biratnagar-based Manav Sewa Ashram has been entrusted with the responsibility to look after the helpless and handicapped.

Meanwhile, the metropolis has also intensified a campaign to evict the footpath. The problem of inundation has been a recurring incident when the construction materials are placed in a haphazard manner.

Likewise, the metropolis has also been effortful to take control of stray cattle.
