All nine killed in Rupandehi bus mishap identified



KATHMANDU: Nine people, who died in a bus accident at Rohini Khola Bridge in the Rupandehi district on Sunday morning, have been identified.

One woman and eight men were killed when a passenger bus, Lu 2 Kha 3841, coming from Janakpur to Bhairahawa fell into the river from Rohini Bridge.

The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Pandey, 65, of Omastiya rural municipality-4, Rupandehi, Tulsi Basyal, 37, of Tilottama municipality-8, Bishnu Poudel, 56, of Yogikuti and Dinesh Das, 20, of Rautahat.

Similarly, the deceased have been identified as Krishna Prasad Basyal, 48, of Kalikanagar, Butwal Sub-Metropolis-11, Arvind Sharma, 40, of Butwal Sub-Metropolis-6, Adarshnagar, Arvind’s father Nagendra Sharma, 50, Sanjay Gupta, 45, of Sitamarhi India and Chandan Yadav, 30, of Mahottari.

Of the 23 injured, 21 are undergoing treatment at the Universal Medical College in Bhairahawa, said police.
