Int’l Open Taekwondo C’ship to be held in Pokhara

POKHARA: The International Open Taekwondo Championship to be organized by the Nepal Taekwondo Association is set to be held in Pokhara.

The Taekwondo contest scheduled to be held in Pokhara three years ago was postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Players from more than 50 countries will participate in the G2 level competition. Earlier, two editions were held in Kathmandu.

The association believes that organizing the competition in Pokhara will also help in the promotion of tourism here.

Talking to Khabarhub about the tournament on Sunday, member secretary of the association Jagan Bahadur Gurung said that players from South America to Japan would participate.

He further said that only 500 players from Nepal alone would participate in the tournament and he was not sure about the number from abroad.

“We have an open competition. It is a G2 level competition,” said Gurung.
