KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha Chitra Bahadur KC has urged the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates of the five-party alliance in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to give a positive message at home and abroad through the development of the metropolis.

Addressing a joint election rally organized by the five-party alliance in Kathmandu Friday, KC said candidates from the alliance should emerge victorious to defeat the party and character that belittled the people’s mandate.

Recalling that all the movements in the past were successful through the unity of left and democratic forces, KC argued that the alliance was univocal to defeat regression and defend republicanism.

“Let’s extend our support to each other by being honest. Rastriya Janamorcha will provide support across the country. Regression is powerful than alliance. So, let’s jointly counter it,” he stressed.

KC also stressed the need for making pro-people candidates, rout regression, curb corruption and maintain good-governance.

Also speaking at the event, leader of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Rajendra Shrestha opined to construct metro rail, reduce tax rate and manage wastes to make the Kathmandu Valley a well-managed city.

The service recipients should be given services in a transparent manner by maintaining good-governance in all local levels while promoting the federal system, said leader Shrestha, who is also the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration.
