NC holding election rally in Kathmandu today

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) is holding an election rally in Kathmandu today in view of the local level election to be held on May 13.

The election rally will be addressed by the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Mass meetings are being held across the country as per the decision of the Central Mobilization Committee for the local level election of the NC.

On Thursday alone, the ruling coalition held a rally in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. It was addressed by Prime Minister Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal, among others.

It is learned that the top leaders of the alliance will also address the meeting to be held in Kathmandu on Friday.

From the ruling coalition, Congress candidate Sirjana Singh and Unified Socialist candidate Rameshwar Shrestha are contesting the local elections for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
