Rape accused actor Shah in remand for 12 days



KATHMANDU: Actor Pal Shah (Purna Bikram Shah), accused of raping a minor singer, has been remanded in custody for another 12 days by the Tanahu district court.

Earlier, the police had detained him for seven days and demanded time for further investigation.

According to DSP Yuvraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Tanahun, the court has allowed police to keep Shah in custody for another 12 days.

Actor Shah was wanted by the police after a minor singer lodged a complaint. Shah had reached the Tanahu police station on February 27.

The victim has alleged that Shah repeatedly raped the 17-year-old singer.

In the complaint filed by the family on behalf of the singer, it is alleged that Shah raped her by trapping her in love.

According to the Tanahu police, the complaint states that Shah raped her in Pokhara, Tanahu, Chitwan and other places.
