Pradesh 2 registers 213,000 new voters



JANAKPUR: Pradesh 2 has registered 213,000 new voters during the voter-list campaign in the province.

Of them, 38,244 new voters registered their names in Dhanusha and  29, 278 in Siraha, said Election Office of Pradesh 2 based in Janakpurdham.

The Election Commission had launched the voter-list collection campaign from December 3 to January 2.

Locals have started coming to the election office to register their names with photographs with the election date for local elections approaching fast.

Around 600 to 700 people are coming to the election office on a daily basis to register their names, said Pushpa Jha, the chief of the election office, Janakpur.
