Tokha municipality to provide free health checkup for community schools children



KATHMANDU: The Tokha municipality is providing free health checkups for students of community schools inside the locality.

Under the Children with Deputy-mayor Program, 6,575 students of 10 community schools and three alternative schools are to be given the health checkup facility in the current fiscal year.

According to municipality education officer Khagendra Singh Dhami, medical teams are visiting the schools for students’ health checkup which includes ENT, heart, teeth, blood pressure level and categorization of blood groups.

In case of suspicion of complicated health issues during the general observation, the case will go for hospital referral.

The local government has allocated two million rupees for implementation of the programme this year.

Boudeshwori Secondary School, Jhor Mahankal, Saraswoti Secondary, Chandeshwori Secondary, Jalupa Secondary, Dhapasi Secondary, Manohar Secondary, Chundevi Basic School and Mahadev Basic School are those community schools in the locality and three alternative schools are Chetana Women, Buddha Namuna and Shubha Shree.
