KATHMANDU: The task force of the five-party ruling coalition formed to allocate seats among the five parties is holding a meeting today as well.

The task force will discuss seat sharing among the five parties in the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and State Assembly.

The top leaders of the five parties have already instructed the task force to finalize and submit a report on the situation of 165 constituencies of the House of Representatives.

The task force’s meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatat this afternoon will try to trash out the differences among the five party leaders on the allocation of seats.

The Nepali Congress has been claiming 100 seats, the Maoist Center 60, Unified Socialist 40, Janata Samajwadi Party 32, and Rastriya Janamorcha Party 3 seats.

The task force has been meeting for almost a month to finalize the seat distribution, but the conclusion has not been reached yet.

The top leaders of the alliance will take the final decision after the task force meeting submits the detailed study report.

The ruling five political parties have said they would soon decide on seat allocation for the November 20 election to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly.

The meeting of the top leaders of the ruling parties held at Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, on Sunday said they were for finalizing seat sharing in two days.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said the ruling alliance had intensified the discussion to conclude seat sharing within two days.
