Nepal is committed to One China policy: Home Minister Khand

Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call to Home Minister



KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand has reiterated Nepal’s commitment to One China policy.

Speaking to the Chinese ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday during the ambassador’s courtesy call, Minister Khand said that Nepal is committed to One China policy.

“Nepal is in favor of the one-China policy,” said an official quoting Home Minister Khand, “We are committed to prevent any activity against the neighboring country within Nepal.”

There was also a discussion about strengthening the mutual relations between the two countries, a Nepali official present on the occasion said.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yanqi said that China expressed happiness at the cabinet’s Thursday decision to hold election on November 20 and informed that China is ready to help in the management of disasters in Nepal.
