Malaysia’s Wistron Technology to take Nepali workers on zero investment; 450 to fly in first phase

KATHMANDU: World’s biggest IT Company in Malaysia is to take Nepali workers on zero cost.

Malaysia’s Wistron Technology and Nepal-based Manpower Company Akarshan International and Laldhanush International signed a bilateral agreement to this effect at a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Deputy General Manager of Wistron Technology David and Chairperson Bishnu Bahadur KC from Akarshan International and Chairperson Dawa Nawang Sherpa of Laldhanush International signed the agreement.

According to the agreement, Nepali workers are permitted to go to Malaysia through the two manpower company on zero investment.

The Malaysia-based Company would take 450 workers in the first phase.

A total of 140 women and 60 men are flying to Malaysia through Akarshan international while 175 women and 75 men are being taken through Laldhanush International.

A high-level management team of the company which is working to take Nepali workforce to Malaysia has arrived Kathmandu. Interview dates have been set for Wednesday and Thursday for workers selection.

All costs involved in sending selected Nepali workforce to Malaysia would be covered by the Company, informed Wistron Technology Deputy General Manager David.

“We are sensitive to the safety and health issues of workers”, he said, adding there would be no discrimination on wage and opportunities between Nepali and Malaysian workers.

The Company has its industries in different countries including China, India, Taiwan, Mexico, Czech Republic and the Philippines.
