BMC to pay heed to senior citizen’s problems: Mayor Koirala



BIRATNAGAR: Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City (BMC), Nagesh Koirala, has said BMC was serious to address the problems facing the senior citizens.

Mayor Koirala viewed he would work actively to create favourable atmosphere for senior citizens to live a dignified life.

“Once the knowledge, skills and experiences of senior citizens are followed by the new generation, it would contribute to build a prosperous society,” he stressed.

Mayor Koirala also argued that those respecting senior people would be honoured in the society.

He pledged to provide any sort of assistance from his side for the elevation of the Women Awareness and Old Age Home. Similarly, chairpersons of ward no 1, 2 and 19 of BMC- Kaji Basnet, Kumar Pokharel and Shyam Ghimire respectively- vowed to provide assistance to the old age home.

The social activists briefed Mayor Koirala on the infrastructures of the old age home.

It was established 23 years back. Currently, a dozen of senior citizens are staying in the facility.
