RPP leader Shrestha dies in an accident



KATHMANDU: Jiwan Kumar Shrestha, a leader of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Khotang, died in an accident this morning.

Shrestha was hit by a motorcycle (Pradesh 1-05-001 Pa 6837) at Diktel Bazaar in Diktel Rupakot Majuwagadhi Municipality-1.

RPP leader Shrestha, who was seriously injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment in a hospital.

He has sustained serious injuries to his head and chest.

Shrestha had given his candidature for the post of mayor of Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadi Municipality in the recently-held in local level election.

His funeral will be held at 3.00 pm today at Pashupati Aryaghat, according to family sources.
