World facing brunt of climate change: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the world is facing the brunt of climate change in the form of snowmelt, lake-burst, flooding and landslide.

As a result of climate change, people had to face various problems like a decline in biological diversity, interruption in agricultural system and crops, the occurrence of diseases, imbalances in rain and temperature and losses from natural disasters, said the PM in a message of best wishes on the occasion of the World Environment Day.

Himalayan, least developed and developing countries like Nepal and poor and marginalized communities have been hit hard due to climate change, according to the message.

May this Day inspire people to ensure environment-friendly behavior and conduct and to conserve the earth, said the PM.
