20-yr-old held on rape charge



DHANKUTA: A man has been arrested on the charge of raping a 16-year-old girl in Dhankuta.

Acting on a complaint, police arrested 20-year-old Subas Katuwal of Dhankuta municipality-3 for raping a teenage girl, a local.

The victim last Monday filed a complaint at the police station stating that Katuwal raped her on March 2.

Acting on the complaint lodged by the victim, police arrested Katuwal from his house on Wednesday, said DSP Chiranjibi Dahal of District Police Office, Dhankuta.

Dahal said they have initiated an investigation into the case after extending his remand from the District Court, Dhankuta.

The case reached the police station after the negotiation at the local level failed to resolve the issue.
