Nepali soldier on peacekeeping mission injured in insurgents attack in Congo



KATHMANDU: A soldier of Nepali peacekeeping mission has been injured after being shot at in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Insurgents opened fire on a ‘Cordon and Search’ team during Operation Bali, that injured one of the peacekeepers.

According to the Nepali Army (NA), insurgents shot at a Nepali soldier on a peacekeeping mission in Congo.

NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information said a helicopter immediately rescued the injured to a UN hospital in Bunia, where he is undergoing treatment.

The rest of the troops are safe, the NA said.
