EC holding meeting with leaders of political parties today

To seek written commitment on election code of conduct



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is holding discussions with the top leaders of political parties on the local level election today.

The meeting will be held at 11:30 am. In the meeting, the EC will urge the political parties participating in the upcoming local level elections to fully implement the election code of conduct.

As many as 79 political parties participating in the local level elections have been called for discussions, said Shaligram Aryal, the spokesperson of the EC.

The EC had sought commitments from the political parties to fully abide by the election code of conduct in the elections held in 2074 BS.

The EC is making preparations to oblige top leaders of all the political parties to sign a commitment paper on the election code of conduct in today’s meeting, it is learnt.

The local level election is being held on May 13.
