Pyuthan mishap update: 7 deceased identified



PYUTHAN: Seven of the eight people killed in a jeep accident in Pyuthan have been identified.

The deceased have been identified as Basanta Khadka, 39, of Jinabang, his wife Basanti Khadka, 39, and their 11-year-old daughter Alisa Khadka, according to Gaumukhi Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu Giri.

Likewise, other deceased have been identified as Keshari Khadka, 29, jeep driver Bal Bahadur Budha Magar, 50, Khim Khatri, 32, and Nandi Khadka, 50.

Similarly, 18-year-old Bipana GC of Lungki has also been killed in the accident.

Bridegroom Dan Bahadur Khadka, 25, Rima GC, 19, Hari Budha Magar, 21, Naresh Khadka, 17, and Sabitra GC, 25 were injured.

The condition of three of the injured, including the bride, is critical.

The jeep was returning from a wedding carrying people, including a bride and a groom.

While six died on the spot, two died in the hospital.

The injured were rushed to the hospital.

The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5092) carrying the bride from Lung Baune of Naubahini village to Liwang of Gaumukhi village met with an accident at Okharpata on Saturday morning.

The jeep had fallen some 300 meters down the road, police said.
