KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that the party will become victorious in the upcoming three-tier elections.

Koirala made the announcement at a gathering of leaders of his faction held at a hotel in Anamnagar on Wednesday.

He, however, raised concern over the criteria of nominating central members in the party by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

“I want to ask party President Deuba to know the basis and criteria of he picked 13 central leaders,” Koirala said at the meeting.

“All the leaders nominated by him are qualified and capable. But, on the basis of which criteria is the nomination made?” he queried.

Dr. Koirala also warned that the party would shrink if Deuba run the party arbitrarily and on the basis of nepotism and favoritism.

Leaders including party Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretary Gagan Thapa and Chandra Bhandari were present at the meeting.
