GORKHA: Maoist Center Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has claimed that the November 20 election will see two factions – one democratic and the other royalist — in the fray.

“While the progressive one is led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, the other one is led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli,” he said while addressing a meeting at Deurali of Gorkha on Friday.

Prachanda said that the alliance led by Deuba was formed to protect the constitution, democracy and inclusive proportionality.

“The current alliance is a new form of the 12-point agreement,” said Prachanda.

He lambasted the UML-led coalition as being a coalition of “separatists who want to divide this country.”

“Let me clarify to the voters that we are fighting to defend the constitution and democracy, while the other coalition is in favor of destroying it,” Prachanda added.

Maoist Chairman Prachanda further stated that the “regressive trend” should be defeated at any cost.
