President Bhandari expresses confidence for free and fair elections



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed her confidence that the Election Commission (EC) would not leave any stone unturned to conduct upcoming parliamentary elections in a free, fair and impartial manner.

In a meet with the Chief Election Commissioner and officials of the Election Commission, President Bhandari expressed satisfaction on the proactive role the EC played for election management and preparation in view of the November 20 elections.

Noting that maintaining electoral impartiality was not only the concern of the EC but also of the political parties, candidates and concerned stakeholders and communities, she said, adding cooperation, coordination and inter-relations among all sides was a must for conducting election in a fearless atmosphere.

While informing the President about election management and preparations at Sheetal Niwas, Chief Election Commission Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said all-out efforts have been made to ensure the election free and fearless.

EC Spokesperson Kamal Bhattarai shared that Election Commissions Ram Prasad Bhandari and Dr Janaki Kumari Tuladhar, Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi and Joint Secretary Shaligram Sharma Poudel were also present on the occasion.
