Nepal sees 40 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Nepal has witnessed a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases with 40 new cases reported in the past 24 hours as of Monday.

Out of the confirmed cases today, 34 were detected through the RT-PCR method and six through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,010 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,847 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,163 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 348 active cases in the country as 19 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,952 to date.
