KATHMANDU: Family members of Young Kidron, who has been missing in Nepal since September 21, 2021, have requested all to search and investigate the missing’s whereabouts.

Orit Kidron, a sister-in-law of Young Kidron, who came in contact with Khabarhub, said they were worried as he has been out of contact since the last 5 months.

According to the information provided by the family, Young came from Israel to Nepal alone, and the last he made contact was on September 21, 2021, when he posted photos on his Instagram account and was in touch with his sister. Then, he had said he might not be able to connect when he enters the trek and after that date, did not answer any messages or posted anything.

He started the trek with a group but went on his own way after they reached Soti Khola, the starting point for the Manaslu Circuit Trek. His name appears at the Philim checkpoint, a route of Manaslu Trek, which is situated nearby to Saglet, and close to Ghatte Khola. It is reported that there was an exit registration of him at Dharapani. After that, no registration was found.

According to her, he was at the Philim checkpoint on September 24. The record of him leaving Dharapani, a route of Annapurna Circuit Trek, was registered on October 21, 2021.

The family wonders why he took that long to do the Manaslu trek and why would he stay a month there and not go on several other treks. Generally, Manaslu Trek is completed in 12 days and takes a maximum of 18 days.

He was 49. He planned to stay in Nepal for about 2 months or so because his health insurance policy was only until November.

His visa expired after 3 months and he didn’t renew it. He did not leave Nepal, according to records. According to the source, he wanted to continue to Thailand from Nepal.

Similarly, Young Kidron’s sister Idit Kidron, writing on Facebook, appealed to everyone to notify them if by any chance they might be known about his whereabouts ever since the end of September. “Also, if one might see him in the near future please don’t hesitate to ask him to contact us. Anyone can DM  or send me a message on +972-54-947-6555, +972-54-234-5624, or https://www.facebook.com/idit.kidron.

According to her, he did say that he’s not going to be available all the time but family members haven’t heard from him for 5 months straight and they are starting to get a bit concerned after their continuous messages, emails, and other ways of communication are left unanswered.

It is reported that his missing case has been reported to the Israeli Embassy in Kathmandu and they are in touch with the police.
