Rhino found dead in Kawasoti



NAWALPARASI: A one-horn rhino was found dead at Kawasoti area of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Purba) on Friday morning.

Assistant Conservation Officer and Information Officer of Chitwan National Park Ganesh Tiwari said the dead body of female rhino of around 28 years was recovered at Krishnasar Community Forest of the national park in Kawasoti.

It is said the local residents have informed the conservation officers about the death of the rhino.

The horn and hooves of the rhino are intact, Tiwari added. With this, a total of 30 rhinos died in the first eight months of the current fiscal year alone.

Of them, 28 died of natural causes and tiger attacks while two others due to poaching.
