Traffic along obstructed Dasharath Chand Highway resumes



BAITADI: The Nepali Army has resumed the traffic along the Dasharath Chand Highway obstructed earlier due to snowfall.

The traffic was resumed along the highway since Friday afternoon by removing snowfall at Satbanjh-Gotalapani along the highway obstructed since Thursday.

A team of security persons comprising the Nepali Army, the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force was deployed to remove snow. Vehicles and passengers stranded along the highway due to disruption have headed towards their destinations after the resumption of the traffic, said Company Commander of Hanumandhoj Company, Khil Bahadur Rana.

Spokesperson at Baitadi Police, Inspector Darshan Khadka said that although Satbanjh-Gotalapani road section had resumed, other highways in the district were still obstructed. Traffic along the Mahakali Highway and Jayaprithivi Highway is still obstructed. He added, “Efforts are underway to resume highway using JCB. Problem has surfaced as snowfall is still taking place.”
