Nepal sees 2,526 new coronavirus cases, 16 deaths in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 2,526 new cases of coronavirus and 16 deaths in the past 24 hours as of Thursday. The number of cases is declining in recent days.

Of the confirmed cases today, 1,602 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 924 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 570 cases in Kathmandu, 55 in Bhaktapur and 120 cases in Lalitpur, taking the Valley’s total to 745 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 16 coronavirus-related deaths have been added to the COVID-19 death tally in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,794 to date.

Currently, there are 56,457 active cases in the country as 8,425 infected patients recovered.
