KATHMANDU: The CK Raut-led Janmat Party has postponed its terai-centric agitation.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, General Secretary Chandan Singh informed that the meeting of the party’s central executive committee has decided to immediately postpone the agitation program due to inclement weather.
The Janmat Party has been protesting in the Terai Madhes since January 16, raising various issues of farmers.
The continuous rainfall followed by hail and storm across the country has made life difficult since Thursday night.
Mentioning that the weather is forecast to remain like this for a week, the Janmat Party has stated that it will hold rural municipality-centric interaction program instead of Lok Marg-centric program.
According to Singh, the party will decide further programs of agitation after February 13.
