Nepal Student Union starts hunger strike at Kathmandu Medical College

Demands waiver of extra fees



KATHMANDU: Nepal Student Union (NSU), a student union close to ruling Nepali Congress, has started a relay hunger strike at Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal on Tuesday.

According to sources, NSU staged a relay hunger strike in protest  against the college’s demand of extra fees from the students.

The protesting students accuse the KMC of collecting extra fee disregarding Nepal Medical Council and Medical Education Commission’s directives not to do so.

NSU students have also demanded regularity in class.

NSU’s former Treasurer Shiva Rimal said that the relay strike will continue till the demands are met.

NSU members Naresh Bhatt, Dayal Satsagi, Rajan Pandey, Sonu Yadav, Raju Adhikari, Manjila Giri, Shriyuta Khatiwada, Bhageshwari Ayer, Rojina GC and Anu Thapa are on a relay hunger strike today (Tuesday).
