Govt should provide education and health services for free of cost: Senior leader Poudel

DAMAULI: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel asserted that the government should take responsibility for education and health for the public.

Inaugurating the 36th anniversary of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Campus at Bhadgaun of Byas Municipality-1 in Tanahu district on Saturday, leader Poudel reiterated that the government should provide education and health service for free as the Constitution of Nepal stipulates Nepal as a socialism-oriented State.

The country needs patriotic human resources, Poudel said, emphasizing the education that produces skilled citizens.

He pledged to transform Adikavi Bhanubhakta Campus as the technical campus. “Technical education is needed to produce skilled citizens. The Adikavi Bhanubhakta Campus will proceed towards this.”

Present in the event were parliamentarians elected from Tanahu constituency no 1, provincial ministers from Gandaki Province as well as Nepali Congress’ Tanahu district office bearers.

On the occasion, former State-Minister Amarraj Kaini, Tam Bahadur Darai and Damodar Khanal were feted in recognition of their contribution to the Campus since its establishment.

The Campus has 3,100 students at present.
