Province 1 PA passes budget for next FY, 2022/23

KATHMANDU: The Provincial Assembly (PA) meeting of Province 1 today passed the budget for the next fiscal year, 2022/23, with a majority.

The budget passed after Speaker Pradip Kumar Bhandari tabled the proposal for a decision.

Earlier, the PA members by a majority rejected the proposal to reduce Rs 100 under the heading of service and consultation for the budget.

The proposal for budget reduction was forwarded by five members of the PA including Tulasi Prasad Neupane on behalf of the CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party.

The proposal was forwarded to make the provincial government more accountable, transparent and responsible, said Neupane.

On the occasion, stating that the government was fully responsible to the PA, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of the Province Indra Bahadur Aangbo said the government was spending budget within the purview of the Province.

On June 15, the minister tabled the estimated annual revenue and expenditures worth Rs 39.7 billion for the Province for the next FY.
