Maoist Center’s Central Committee meeting underway

KATHMANDU: Maoist Center’s Central Committee today is underway in Kathmandu.

The meeting is being held at Nepal Academy, Kamaladi.

The meeting is said to review the local elections held on May 13.

In addition, discussions are also being held on the selection of office bearers, standing committee, politburo and division of work and responsibility, a party leader said.

Even though the Maoists held a general convention last year, only the party chairman has been elected, and no other office bearers were elected.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda was unanimously elected as the chairman.

The General Convention had given the party’s Central Committee the right to nominate the office-bearers.
