NA suspends Chinese contractors for failing to expedite Fast Track construction

The Nepal Army (NA) has suspended the contractor companies – both Chinese – working on the Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track for failing to expedite the construction work.

According to the military, the company has been suspended for a few days.

However, the contract with the company has not been canceled.

The NA had earlier approved the designs of the tunnels and connecting bridges to be built along the Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track, one of the national pride projects.

Dahal urges local representatives from party to keep people first

Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal and Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder have held a meeting today.

In the meeting held in mayor Dahal’s office, the two discussed cooperation and collaboration between Nepal and Israel.

Stating that agriculture was the mainstay of national economy, mayor Dahal expressed that Nepal wanted to apply and optimize Israeli agricultural technology in Nepal.

Coalition will last till federal parliament election: NC spokesperson Mahat

Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that the present five-party alliance will continue until the upcoming federal parliament election.

Newly elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Shah has inspected Sisdol landfill site for the second time.

Mayor Shah and Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol have reached Sisdol after the Kathmandu Valley has been facing problems in waste management for a long time.

Mayor Shah, who has given priority to waste management in the Kathmandu Valley, had consulted with Urban Development Minister Ram Kumari Jhakri only on Thursday evening.

Govt to form committee to systematize supplies of petroleum products

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu has said that a high-level committee would be formed to suggest ways for better managing the demand, supplies and distribution chain of petroleum products and for handling economic impacts due to adjustment of prices of petroleum products.
