Chitwan Congress to stake a claim for Bharatpur Mayor

KATHMANDU: The Chitwan Nepali Congress has decided not to give up its demand for the post of Bharatpur Municipality mayor.

While the ruling coalition has decided to forge an alliance to contest the local elections, the Nepali Congress has staked a claim on the post.

A meeting of the district working committee held on Sunday decided to field its candidate for the post of a mayor in Bharatpur.

Earlier, the Nepali Congress had backed Renu Dahal, daughter of Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.
