PM Deuba returns home wrapping up his three-day India visit
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has returned home wrapping up his three-day official visit to India on Sunday evening.
During his visit to New Delhi, Nepal and India signed four different agreements, including the International Solar Alliance between Nepal and India, technical assistance related to railways, supply of petroleum products and technical expertise between Nepal Oil Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation.
Local election, the decisive front against regression: Prachanda
Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged all to regard the upcoming local election as a decisive front to sideline the regressive forces in the country.
Maoist Center Chairman said that the warning against regression is still going on.
“We formed an alliance against regressive elements and dethroned them from power,” Prachanda said, adding, “However, the regression is likely to attempt to regain its power, all people should make it lick the dust in the forthcoming elections.”
Govt hikes long-route public transport fare
In a bid to maintain the automatiuc fare rate, the government on Sunday increased the fares of long-route public vehicles by 10 percent.
The Department of Transport Management increased the fares by 10 percent.
Hearing of writ filed against 14 MPs to be held on April 9
Hearing of a writ petition filed against 14 defecting lawmakers has been scheduled for April 9.
Even though the hearing was scheduled for today, it had to be rescheduled after Supreme Court (SC) Judge Nahakul Subedi refused to hear the writ petition on Sunday.
A joint bench of Justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Subedi was supposed to hear the writ petition filed by CON-UML Chairman KP Oli against 14 lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Dr Arzu Rana Deuba praises grandness of Vishwanath temple area
Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Nepal’s first lady, who visited Kashi for worship of Baba Vishwanath in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh said that a major improvement can be seen at the temple area adding that relationship between India and Nepal has been eternal and will continue forever.
PM Deuba lays foundation stone for elderly people’s home
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is on a three-day official visit to India, has laid the foundation stone for the construction of an old-age home in the premises of Pashupatinath Temple at Lalitaghat of the holy city, Varanasi, Sunday.
Prime Minister Deuba also performed the ‘bhumi puja’, the land sanctification rituals, for the construction.

The government has directed all concerned bodies and businessmen to make petroleum products and daily necessities easily available.

Chair Nepal urges cadres to engross on local level elections
KANCHANPUR: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has urged the party cadres and leaders to engross on local level elections.
Addressing a programme organized at Bedkot Municipality of Kanchanpur district here Sunday, Chairperson Nepal directed the cadres to intensify formation of committees at ward level and make party publicity accordingly.
