SC to hear writ filed against 14 MPs on April 9

KATHMANDU: Hearing of a writ petition filed against 14 defecting lawmakers has been scheduled for April 9.

Even though the hearing was scheduled for today, it had to be rescheduled after Supreme Court (SC) Judge Nahakul Subedi refused to hear the writ petition on Sunday.

A joint bench of Justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Subedi was supposed to hear the writ petition filed by CON-UML Chairman KP Oli against 14 lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Judge Subedi had earlier refused to hear the case, saying that he had heard the case of Som Prasad Pandey, who had been elected by the UML.

Pandey is currently in the Unified Socialist led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.
