NEPSE saw double-digit fall, market closes at 2,876.75 points on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a double-digit fall on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

The index shed 14.60 points to close at 2,876.75 points today. Along with the NEPSE index, the Sensitive Index, which measures the trading activity of Class A companies, also declined by 3.25 points.

The index remained mostly green throughout the trading day but closed red at the end with a double-digit fall.

The total turnover climbed to over Rs 8.5 billion today as 15,780,713 shares of 224 companies were bought and sold via 108,365 transactions.

Despite the market downturn, the share prices of most hydropower companies and non-life insurance companies have risen.
