Campaign to illuminate Bharatpur begins

BHARATPUR: Works have been started to fix ‘smart street lamps’ at major roads and areas in the Bharatpur Metropolis.

The campaign aims to illuminate the town with the joint efforts of the Bharatpur Metropolitan City Office and the Nepal Electricity Authority.

The campaign launched as the part of the NEA’s National Street Lamp Promotion Project will cover the 78.1 kilometres road area with the installation of 1,933 smart lamps.

The total cost of the project is Rs 114.9 million, according to mayor Renu Dahal. The works will be complete by upcoming mid-May.

“We hope the campaign will help make the town beautiful, promoting the security situation here,” the mayor said.

Town’s major areas: district administration office, Birendra Campus, Pokhara Buspark, Diyalo Bangala, revenue office, and Chaubiskothi will have the high smart lamps while other roads will be equipped with smart lamps.
