Nepal’s Immigration Department stops two Indians from traveling to Indonesia



KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration has stopped two Indian nationals from going to Indonesia from Nepal.

Immigration officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) barred Indian nationals Devbhinandan Maru with Indian passport number Z 6339430 and Bindu Maru with passport number Z 1789930 from leaving for Indonesia.

They were on their way to Indonesia on Wednesday.

The two passengers did not have a “no objection letter” (NOC) issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

The Indian Embassy in Nepal has been issuing NOC letters to Indian nationals traveling to other countries for the first time from Nepal.

Nepal’s immigration authorities allow Indian nationals to travel from Nepal for the first time only on the basis of the letter from the Indian Embassy.

The officials also did not find the records of these Indian nationals entering.

The Immigration Office at the Tribhuvan International Airport has tightened visa requirements and the travel of foreigners entering Nepal through transit.
