KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolis Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has clarified that he has not sought any money from any diplomatic missions as grant or donations.

Replying to CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal’s aggressive comment against Mayor Balen’s meeting with US Ambassador to Nepal, the Kathmandu Mayor said that unlike the political leaders, he (Balen) has fulfilled all formalities while meeting with the foreign representatives and has not done anything that hurts the dignity of nation.

Earlier, UML leader Rawal had expressed concerns relating to the transparency of the meetings with the foreign mission heads.

Responding to that, Shah clarified that he had received approval from the foreign ministry and did not ask for any help from the US, rather he replied that he would help build a temple or pati-pauwa that reflects Nepali civilization in the USA.
