Bibeksheel Sajha Party: 200 thousand votes in 2074 BS, 789 in 2079 BS

KATHMANDU: The Bibeksheel Sajha Party which had been talk of the town in the general elections of 2074 BS and had garnered around 200 thousands votes has shrunk to 789 votes in the recent elections.

According to the latest statistics of the Election Commission, the party has not even got a thousand votes proportionally till now. In the election of 2074, the party had got 212,364 votes proportionally.

When the Rastriya Swatantra Party, which emerged only a few months ago, won seven seats directly and got 11,19,996 votes on the proportional side, Bibeksheel Sajha could not even open an account under first-past-the-post election.

The party, which was once active in promoting alternative politics, seems to be on the path of decline this time.
