No entry to post seekers in Rastriya Swotantra Party: Chair Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Swotantra Party Ravi Lamichhane has said that he would not allow those who seek various positions to join his party.

Addressing a Karnali provincial gathering in Surkhet on Tuesday, he said that those who come looking for a post are not allowed entry into his party. He said, “Those who are used to saying they will join this party and that party if they get a certain position, they would not get to join this party as long as this party lives, as long as I live.”

He added he would also not allow those who are currently changing mainstream parties for the sake of positions.

However, he welcomed those who felt they could not rid the mainstream parties of ill-practices and wrong doings.

“If we don’t change our mandate in the upcoming election, we will have to suffer another five years. However, I don’t know whether or not another Harka Sampang, another Balen and another Gopal Hamal will come out to politics and contest elections by abandoning the pleasures of their life,” Lamichhane said

He said that the residents of Karnali could change Karnali by changing their votes, their mandate. “There is no other way to change your destiny other than the vote you cast,” he said.
