Two persons die, three go missing as landslide destroys house



MYAGDI: Two persons died and three others went missing when a landslide damaged a house at Rum of Malika Rural Municipailty-2 in Myagdi district this morning.

Rajan BK and Nabin BK, sons of Gothe BK, were found dead in the debris after the house belonging to Gham Bahadur BK and Gothe BK was destroyed by the landslide, according to former ward member, Sam Bahadur BK.

Similarly, Gothe and his wife have been injured in the incident. Those missing in the landslide are Gham Bahadur, his wife Ram Maya and daughter Roji BK.

The locals have continued search for the missing ones. Chairperson of Malika Rural Municipality, Beg Prasad Garbuja, informed that the people’s representatives and security persons were heading to the incident site for further details and rescue works.

It takes some three hours’ walk from Darbang, the centre of Malika Rural Municipality, to reach the site.
