We are inching closer towards victory: NC mayoral candidate Dhungel



BHAKTAPUR: The Nepali Congress (NC) has expedited door-to-door election campaigns in Suryabinayak municipality in Bhaktapur.

NC and CPN (Unified Socialist) on Sunday conducted the door-to-door electoral campaigns asking for votes.

The alliance has launched door-to-door election campaigns with the slogan, ‘Vote for us, we will ensure development and prosperity.’

Nishan Dhungel is contesting the local level elections for the post of mayor from NC while Shyam Sundar Basnet is vying for the post of deputy mayor representing the Unified Socialist.

Talking to media persons, Dhungel said that the alliance is inching closer towards victory in the local level elections.

“Local people and the civil society are dissatisfied with the existing condition of local development. Local people and civil society are with us, hence, we are very likely to turn the tables in our favor in the upcoming local level elections,” said Dhungel.

Similarly, Rajesh Taja from NC is contesting elections for the post of ward chairperson in Suryabinayak-5. Saru Karki (NC) is contesting the elections for the post of women member, Ramila Mijar (NC) for the post of Dalit member, and Hari Om Dhungel (NC) and Nawaraj Khiuju (Unified Socialist) are contesting the local level elections for the post of members under open category.
