HoR meeting adjourned in 8 minutes, next meeting scheduled for Sunday

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been adjourned after eight minutes on Wednesday.

As soon as the HoR meeting  scheduled for 1 pm, Wednesday started, the main opposition party CPN-UML lawmakers started chanting slogans.

Despite their sloganeering, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota gave time to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu to present the annual report of the National Information Commission. Badu presented the annual report to the House on behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

However, as the UML protest did not go down, Speaker Sapkota adjourned the meeting till Sunday, March 6.

This all took around eight minutes after the parliament meeting started.

UML has been continuously obstructing the parliament since September 8. UML has demanded that the speaker should resign if action is not taken against 14 defecting lawmakers including Madhav Nepal.
