NPU Sunsari afoot to host eye camp for district journos



ITAHARI: Nepal Press Union (NPU) Sunsari Chapter is all set to organize an eye camp for all working journalists in the district.

According to NPU district President Pawan Adhikari, the eye camp will be held at Durga Party Palace in Itahari on Thursday (March 3). NPU Sunsari is partnering with National Photojournalist Association Sunsari chapter for this first eye camp targeting working journalists in the district.

”Biratnagar Eye Hospital is our technical and logistic partner which will manage all required opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists”, informed Adhikari. He added ”Even family members of journalists can be part of this eye camp.”

Adhikari said owing to the extensive use of digital devices and internet spheres, journalists are having hard times to care their eye. He said, ”We are just making our drive to aware and care journalists about eye ailments and its expert- prescribed diagnostic and treatments. Our eye camp will be free of cost.”

Nepal Press Union Sunsari has been organizing many journalists-centric works, which include COVID-19 insurance, accident insurance and the likes. Recently, it organized photography training.
