NC office bearers’ meeting to revise the proportional list

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding office bearer meeting on Saturday (today) as well.

NC is holding a meeting to revise the closed list of the candidates to be elected through proportional election system submitted to the Election Commission.

A leader of the disgruntled Shekhar Koirala faction of NC informed that the office bearers meeting has been called at Baluwatar, the official residence of the Prime Minister, at 3 pm today.

The leader said that the name will be amended from the today’s meeting.

NC has been calling office bearers meeting continuously since the party’s disgruntled faction led by Shekhar Koirala and General Secretary Gagan Thapa started a protest demanding that the closed list submitted to the EC on September 19 be corrected soon.

Although the office bearers have held continuous meetings since last Thursday, they have not been able to make a concrete decision regarding the revision of the closed list.

As per the EC’s election schedule, the parties have to revise their close list by Sunday.
