Prevalent financial system is detrimental to the economy of the country: Hridayesh Tripathi

KATHMANDU: Former Minister and lawmaker Hridayesh Tripathi has said that the incumbent financial system is aimed at destroying the country’s economy.

Participating in a general discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2022/23 in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, former Minister Tripathi said that the country’s economy is getting worse day by day.

“The financial system is detrimental to the economy of the country; hence, the economists and the government machinery should start improving,” he said.

Tripathi lambasted the tax system as import-oriented and urged the government to seek other alternative ways of generating revenue.
